Kylie from the Mobile Hygiene Access Project wrote this beautiful message to update everyone on the success of our first Kindness Kit campaign:

On behalf of the Mobile Hygiene Access Project (MHAP), I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has participated in the Kindness Kit Initiative at A Kinder Cup coffee shop. The success of this initiative has truly been a community effort, with participants ranging from retirees to preschool children. In just two months, your generous “kindness kit” donations have enabled us to reach over one hundred unhoused individuals in Greater Victoria. Each kindness kit has been unique. Items have included snacks, bottled water, gift cards (e.g. Tim Hortons), warm/dry accessories (e.g. hand warmers, toques, socks, gloves, rain ponchos), personal care items (e.g. deodorant, soap, feminine hygiene products, toothbrush/toothpaste, chapstick, dry towels), shelter-building materials (e.g. bungee cords, duct tape, tarps). first-aid items (e.g. bandages, alcohol wipes), and COVID safety items (e.g. face masks, hand sanitizer). The recipients of your donations have been extremely touched by the kindness shown to them by complete strangers and impressed by the thoughtfulness that has gone into preparing the kits. Your donations have not only provided sustenance, but also hope to folks who are facing huge challenges in this community. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Kim and her amazing team at A Kinder Cup for their unwavering and heartfelt support.

Warm regards,
Kylie
